The long-awaited “crossover point” when deficit spending occurs for the Sammamish city budget—in recent years 
projected to be early next decade—may be here now.
The City Council takes up the budget tonight and a comparison of revised figures by Council Candidate Mark Baughman shows proposed expenditures exceed projected revenues by $4m.
Today is Election Day for the Sammamish City Council and other local races.
Mail-in ballots must be mailed today. If you miss your local postal pickup at your house, you can mail the ballots at the Issaquah or Redmond post offices,
There is also a drop-box at Sammamish City Hall. The drop must be by 8pm.

cope with development and growth, Members should revisit a May 2006 statement by the then-City Manager who said concurrency can be used to limit growth.
That statement, in the City Newsletter by Ben Yazici, stands in stark contrast to statements this summer by his successor, Lyman Howard, Vic Saleman, a traffic engineer consultant, and the City staff, that this isn’t strictly true.
The Council has a study session tonight beginning at 5:30pm at City Hall that includes a focus on concurrency options.
Sammamish is seeking applicants to appoint to four commissions. The deadline to file an 
application is Dec. 15.

This is the final weekend before the Nov. 7 City Council election on Tuesday.
Voting has been underway since Oct. 20. We’re reposting links to endorsements, recommendations, candidate questionnaires and evaluations by various groups.

The County updates the results daily, except weekends and Thanksgiving. So will The Comment, as long as any results are too close to call. We will post the final results Nov. 28 and follow up with a precinct analysis.
Typically, Election Night results are within a point or two of the final tally. Also typically, the vote spreads are enough to project winners on Election Night.
