Why are you running for Sammamish City Council?

I’m running to ensure that Sammamish families of all kinds have a strong voice in our local government and feel safe and valued. Our community is becoming more diverse every day and I believe we have a responsibility to ensure that our city council reflects that diversity. As a single mom working full time, I know how hard it is to make ends meet and care for a family. I bring needed perspective and life experience to the council.

Why are you running for Sammamish City Council?

My wife Daphne and I have been blessed to raise our family in Sammamish, and as long-term residents of nearly 30 years, we have witnessed the dynamic growth of our community as it transitions to a more urban setting and we are concerned for our community character and our quality of life. Recently I retired from a business career and I now have the time to devote to City Council and apply my seasoned business leadership experience for a more open and transparent government. I believe it is my moral obligation to apply the learned management principles of my cumulative experiences to find the proper solutions for growth management, traffic and transit balance, and protection of our environment while maintaining a conservative fiscal policy.

Why are you running for Sammamish City Council?

I’m running for Sammamish City Council because I believe that Sammamish is a special place; however, the growth and development in our region have many worried that what we love most about Sammamish – our great schools, incredible green spaces, and unique Northwest charm – may be at risk.  I’m running to protect our environment, manage growth in a sustainable way, reduce traffic through and from town, manage our finances efficiently and invest in the areas that really matter to us. I want to make sure that Sammamish continues to be a city that our kids can be proud to call home.

Why are you running for Sammamish City Council?

I was born and raised on the Eastside. For the past 15 years, I have travelled throughout the country and nearly every corner of the world, but never found a better place than Washington State to raise a family.

I am running for city council to ensure Sammamish continues to be one of the best places in the world to raise a family, even as we confront the challenges and opportunities that flow from our region’s incredible growth. I believe that I can make a positive impact on our community as we look to our future.
