Inslee vetoes Public Records exemption bill, litigants stand down for new negotiations

Gov. Inslee today vetoed SB6617, the legislation that exempts legislators from the Public Records Act.

Inslee’s press release may be found here

At the bottom are letters from Democrats, a petulant letter from Republicans, and from the law firm representing media that sued-and won-that legislators are subject to the Act.

The media agreed to join with legislators to ask the judge who ruled for the media to stay further action for nine months while negotiations and hearings begin to fix what may be perceived by some as flaws.

  1. One for the “Gov”….good for him !! Now the REAL representatives of the people will have to show their true allegiances. If they overturn the Gov’s veto that should be the end of their political lives!
