Dec. 9, 2021: The Sammamish City Council Tuesday extended to Dec, 13 the deadline for city manager Dave Rudat to respond to a notice of a 30 day suspension, adopted by the council Nov. 16.

Rudat had been given until Nov. 30 to respond to charges he breached confidentiality of executive sessions and other improprieties.

Rudat attended the Nov. 16^th meeting but did not ask for an extension at that time. He went on vacation beginning Nov. 22 for the rest of the month. Upon his return, he asked for an extension of the deadline to respond, citing a personal leave.

Frequent leaves

Since June, through November, Rudat was out of the city for 41 days, citing leaves of absence, according to data reviewed by Sammamish Comment. The reasons given were family issues, or family health reasons, or a funeral. He was in New Hampshire most of this time. Additionally, he took 29 vacation days during the same period, according to data reviewed by The Comment.
