Readers of Sammamish Comment have the opportunity this year to be a Guest Contributor.

Think of the Op Ed pieces that appear occasionally in The Seattle Times.

Contributions may be up to 1,000 words. They may be on any topic. They must be polite, but they may take a critical eye of policies, topics or actions of Sammamish. They may also be supportive of these.

The Op Eds may take positions contrary to Sammamish Comment.

Given the absence of any newspaper in Sammamish (the Issaquah/Sammamish Reporter for all practical purposes ignores Sammamish and the issues here), Sammamish Comment is expanding the opportunity for citizens to express their views in an Op Ed-type of format. (Readers already have the ability to submit Reader Comments on any post.)

Email your submissions to cityhamilton (at) gmail.com. These will be edited only for grammar and spelling, but Sammamish Comment reserves the right to reject any submission that is abusive or libelous. Rejections will be returned to the writer with an explanation and an opportunity to fix the offending passages.

Submissions will be handled on a first-come, first service basis. You must include your name, address (which will not be published) and a short description of yourself with your submission. (Once more, use The Seattle Times Op Ed pieces as a guide.) Also include a photo of yourself.
